Feminists don’t wear pink (and other lies) : Pink Exhibition in the Secondary Library
Der internationale Frauentag am 8. März findet seit Anfang dieser Woche auch in der Sekundarbibliothek seinen Wiederhall. In unserer Ausstellung zum Thema gibt es viele Bücher – Romane, Sach- und Jugendbücher – zum Thema Feminismus, Frauenpower, starke Mädchen und vielem mehr zu entdecken. Nicht nur für Frauen/Mädchen!
The International Women’s Day on 8th March has also resonated in the Secondary Library since the start of this week. In our exhibition on the topic, there are many books – novels, non-fiction, and youth literature – to explore on subjects such as feminism, female empowerment, strong girls, and much more. Not just for women/girls!
Eine besondere Atmosphäre aus Spannung, freudiger Erwartung und einem gewissen Maß an Nervosität herrschte am Morgen des 07.12.2021 in der Aula der Europäischen Schule RheinMain. Grund dafür war die schulinterne Finalrunde des Vorlesewettbewerbs der sechsten Klassen der deutschen Sprachsektion (S1DE).
Nacheinander lasen unsere vier Klassensieger Lena, Lara, Aliya und Davide die selbst ausgesuchten Textstellen ihrer Bücher und stellten auf beeindruckende Weise unter Beweis, warum sie es bis in unser Finale geschafft hatten. Keine leichte Aufgabe für die Jury, die Platzierungen unter den begnadeten Vorleser*innen zu vergeben. Am Ende setze sich Davide, dicht gefolgt von Lara, Aliya und Lena durch.
Wir wünschen Davide viel Erfolg beim nun folgenden Regionalentscheid sowie Lara, Aliya und Lena weiterhin viel Spaß beim Lesen!

On 07.12.2021 the auditorium of the European School RheinMain was filled with a mix of beaming excitement, anticipation and a certain kind of nervousness. This was owed to the school’s internal final round of the nationwide reading competition for the sixth-grade students of the German section (S1DE).
One by one, our four class winners Lena, Lara, Aliya and Davide read the passages they had selected from the books of their choice and impressively emphasized why they had made it to our final round. Not an easy task for the jury to choose the winner among the gifted readers. In the end, Davide took first place, closely followed by Lara, Aliya and Lena.
We wish Davide every success in the following regional competition and Lara, Aliya and Lena lots of fun reading!
