Der Startschuss ist gefallen – Ready, set, go!

Die zweite Schulwoche ist in vollem Gange und auch die Bibliothek wird von Beginn an rege genutzt. Eine kurze Bibliothekseinführung erleichterte speziell den jüngeren und neuen Schülern den Einstieg und die “alten Hasen” konnten ihr Bibliothekswissen unter Beweis stellen oder auffrischen.

Die Schüler der 4. Klasse mit Deutsch als Zweitsprache hatten sichtlich Spaß am (lauten) Lesen der Onilo Boardstory und dem damit verbundenen Einstieg in das Thema “Schule”. Scheinbar nebenbei lernten die Schüler verschiedene Laute und Worte kennen und Dank der Hilfestellungen und Anleitung ihrer Lehrer war auch das Textverständnis kein Problem. Letzteres wird im Unterricht in Form von Übungen zum Text noch weiter vertieft werden.

Schön, dass die lesefreudigen Primarschüler nun wieder regelmäßig in der Bibliothek sein werden!

It is only the second week in school but the library has been a busy place from the very beginning. A brief library introduction was supposed to help especially the younger and new students to get started while it was a chance to share or refresh their library knowledge for all other children.

It was pretty obvious that students in year 4 with German as a second language enjoyed the approach to their current topic “school” when reading out loud the Onilo board story about Mr Krachtowil. Without really noticing – and with the support and guidance of their teachers – the students got to know words, phonics and not to forget context, of course. In the lessons to follow, story comprehension is going to be worked on further with extra classroom material.

World Tolerance Day 2016 in the library

Last week a group of year 5 students came to practice reading out loud  in the primary library. Not only did they take turns reading out parts of the Onilo-Boardstory in their second language, they also revised their grammar knowledge when detecting the different kind of pronouns and demonstrated their text and language comprehension. In the end the students put Kirsten Boie’s story “Bestimmt wird alles gut” in context to the World Tolerance Day and thought about the meaning of tolerance in their daily school life.

Letzte Woche besuchte eine Lerngruppe der 5. Klasse die Primar-Bibliothek, um das laute Vorlesen zu üben. Neben dem Vorlesen der Onilo-Boardstory in der Zweitsprache wurden auch gleich grammatikalische Inhalte aus dem Unterricht wiederholt, als die verschiedenen Pronomen im Text gefunden werden sollten. Darüber hinaus wurden Text- und Sprachverständnis geschult, der Bogen von Kirsten Boies Geschichte “Bestimmt wird alles gut” zum Welttag der Toleranz gespannt und über die Bedeutung von Toleranz im täglichen Schulleben nachgedacht.
