There is always something special to see or do in Primary School: National Holidays are being celebrated, an exhibition about The Middle Ages, authors are visiting and soon books will be in the spotlight even more than they already are.
In the weeks to come children will be looking into fairy tales, work on storytelling and the covers of the books will be of bigger interest than they usually are. This was the case when P1ENB came to the school library, yesterday. Children had been asked to think about what makes a good book cover, picked one book with an interesting cover and were happy to reason their choice during check out. After the holidays the children will hand in the book covers they have designed and vote for their favourite to enter the race for best book cover of the year group. The finalists will be displayed in the library where all students can ballot for “Book Cover 2018”
On 26 April the winners of the storytelling-, dress up- (as your favourite character) and book cover competition will be announced at the end of World Book week.
In der Primarschule gibt es immer etwas Besonderes zu sehen oder zu tun: Nationalfeiertage werden gefeiert, eine Ausstellung zum Mittelalter, Autorenbesuche und schon bald werden Bücher noch mehr im Fokus stehen, als sie es ohnehin schon tun.
Während der folgenden Wochen werden die Schüler sich mit Märchen und Geschichtenerzählen beschäftigen und die Titelbilder der Bücher werden von größerer Bedeutung sein als sonst. Das konnte man im Falle der Erstklässler der P1ENB sehen, als sie gestern in der Schulbibliothek waren. Zunächst überlegten sich die Kinder, was ein gutes Titelbild ausmacht, suchten sich ein Buch mit interessantem Cover aus und erklärten beim Ausleihen freudig die Gründe für ihre Wahl. Nach den Ferien werden die Kinder das schönste, selbst gestaltete Titelbild ihrer Klasse wählen, das sie ins Rennen um den Titel der Jahrgangsstufe schicken. Die Finalisten werden in der Bibliothek präsentiert, wo die Schüler das Titelbild des Jahres 2018 wählen.
Am 26. April werden dann die Gewinner des Erzähl-, Verkleide- und Buchtitel-Wettbewerbs verkündet; zum Ende der “Welttag des Buches” Woche.
